Which trait to pick

  • Skitter if you run a lot, e.g. as a hunter or when escaping bigger bugs.

Traits stack with stats; see Stats & abilities.

Which trait is best?

Pick Thick Carapace (+12% Max Health) if you mostly fight bosses or play solo, because extra health keeps you alive longer. Pick Skitter (sprinting costs 25% less stamina, +4% Health) if you spend most of your time running between food and quest targets. Other traits probably exist, and the full list is to be verified.

When the trait screen appears

The "LEVEL 153 – CHOOSE A TRAIT" screen was seen right after the Emperor Scorpion fell, so traits seem to come from certain level-ups. Big boss XP makes those level-ups come faster.
