How to Level Up Fast in Bug Evolution

Levels are everything in Bug Evolution: they make your bug bigger, raise HP and unlock evolutions. These are the fastest free ways to gain XP, followed by the paid options and whether they're worth it.
1. Grind during Night Hunt (2x XP)
A "NIGHT HUNT · 2x XP" banner appears under your coin counter at night. Every bite gives double XP while it lasts, free for everyone. The exact length of a night is to be verified.
2. Always have quests running
Quick quests overlap with eating: "Crack 19 Acorns", "Eat 11 Beetles", "Tear open 13 Silk Cocoons", "Bite 14 Ants". Level quests like "Reach Level 30" (+150 coins) complete on their own. See Quests.
3. Eat bigger food
Acorns and silk cocoons take several bites but pay more XP per item than tiny ants. As you grow, move to the next area so the food matches your size.
4. Turn on Auto Atk
The green AUTO ATK toggle keeps biting while you steer, so you never miss a hit.
5. Fight bosses in a team
In one clip a player at Lv 149 hit Lv 153 right after the Emperor Scorpion fell, plus a free trait. Group up with the Team button.
6. Move up an area at the right time
Whispering Woods is Lv 15+. Staying in Sunny Meadow too long slows you down.

The in-game 2x XP button showed a lower price (◎145) than the API (R$199) in one clip, so a sale may have been running to be verified.
XP sources compared
The graphics below rank the XP sources we have seen. Night Hunt doubles XP for the whole server. Bosses give the biggest single jump, with one clip going from Lv 149 to Lv 153 after the Emperor Scorpion. Quests pay steady rewards from +42 to +150, and bigger food gives bigger popups (+23 XP for an acorn, +126 XP for larger prey).
Max level
Players have been seen above Lv 150, and the HUD has a "LV 100" slot. The real max level is to be verified.
